I stood there staring at the closed door while Evans leaned his forehead against it, his shoulders rising and falling with heavy breaths.
He didn't turn around, just stayed there with his hands pressed flat against the door like he was holding it shut against something, "he's crazy, making things up to cause problems between us."
"Then why do you look so guilty?" I moved closer, trying to see his face.
He finally turned around and I saw it, the exhaustion in his eyes, the tension in his jaw, something that looked almost like fear, "I'm not guilty, I'm angry that he came here and upset you."
