I saw him bend down, seemingly picking up his pants, and putting them on as I looked away from him. It was a shame for me to keep staring at a naked man.
I stole side glances and saw him finish getting dressed as he walked towards me, he tilted his head as he looked at me, and though I was very afraid of him, I could not deny the curse of his attractiveness despite the pitch dark.
"Did I scare you?" he said in a soft voice
I shook my head and was afraid of the wrath of the mythical creature that separated me from it inches "No... I just wanted... to come back" I said and couldn't believe I was able to get some words out of my throat
His face came closer and I could feel his hot breath on my face as he stared at my lips as if trying to kiss me, and suddenly he fell backwards.
"I'll get you out of here, it's dangerous to be here," he said
I felt a little calm when he spoke to me this way I was afraid he would kill me and tear me as prey, is this the wolf guy that Nate told me about? ... Is it true what is rumored about the existence of legends in this forest?!.
"Excuse me… what are you?" I dared ask him with hesitation
He didn't answer me and he was walking in front of me and I walked behind him carefully and continued, "Well...I guess my friends are there somewhere in the north of the woods," I said.
"I know, but they just left the woods," he said without looking at me
"What! Nate can't leave me here" I said surprised
He turned towards me as he walked, "You shouldn't tell anyone what just happened to you, do you understand!" He said
I nodded in fear, "I promise." I said
We walked through the terrifying silence of the forest, and I think I felt pairs of red eyes watching us through the trees, I sped my steps as I looked around until I hit the body of the wolf-man who suddenly stopped.
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean" I said and leaned back, his body was solid and strong
"Your colleagues are waiting for you there," he said, nodding to our SUV.
Realizing that we were now out of the woods, I breathed a sigh of relief and saw Jacqueline and the tour guide Sean quarreling loudly, and it seemed they had already gone out of the woods, and I wondered if Nate thought of leaving without me.
I turned to see the wolf man, but I did not find him. He had completely disappeared, and I quickly ran towards the car for fear that something else would happen to me.
Everyone turned to me when I shouted, "Nyet."
Nate also ran towards me, grabbed my shoulder and shook me hard, "Russell, were you in the woods? What happened to you there, did you meet a creature?"
"Leave me alone, I want to go home now," I said angrily, as I walked toward the car.
Silence fell and everyone got into the car. I refused to look at Nate the whole way back, until Jacqueline broke our silence.
"Are you okay?" he said
"Yes," I said, adding nothing
I slowly turned back where we left the woods, and asked what I saw there, what those boys really were? They looked weird, and what about the wolf man? I think the forest contains many secrets within it.
The sight of that young man approaching me in the woods kept repeating in my head, and I wondered why he might help me, even though he was a predator, and I was curious about him.
As soon as we got to our place of residence and as soon as we entered the house, I threw my bag and headed for the kitchen, while Nate kept watching me silently.
I was so thirsty after all the screaming and panic I took a bottle of water and drank it all, and suddenly I felt my hand Nate on my arm
"Milene, sweetheart, shall we have dinner together?" he said
I looked at him in astonishment, it's not that Nate is free to do such things with me, "No, I don't want to, I'm tired," I said as I sat on the sofa.
"Russell, I know you're mad at me for taking you to that woods, but I promise I'll make it up to you when we get back," he said, sitting next to me.
I kept silent, looking at him and suddenly I saw tears pooling in Nate's eyes and he looked like he was about to cry then he ran his hand over his face "Oh Melin... I'm really tired. I'm going crazy if I fail" he said
I sighed and wondered why he's acting like this? I gently ran my hand over his arm, "It's okay, Nate, I guess you didn't fail," I said
He looked up at me and his eyes twinkled, "Please, Melin, tell me what you saw there. We heard your screams and couldn't locate you." He said.
I licked my dry lips and was reluctant to tell him after I promised the wolf-man there, but Nate knew I was weak to other people's sorrows.
"Well, I saw strange creatures with fangs," I said hastily
"Really, what happened after that?" he said very carefully
"It was like a dream when I miraculously ran away from them and they didn't catch me," I said, content with that, and I didn't want to say more about the wolf-man because I promised him not to reveal what happened to me.
"So the fact that there were strange beings was not a figment of the imagination," Nate said as he stood in his place
"I have to tell Jacqueline what happened to you, so we can get ready for another hunting trip tomorrow," said Nate
"What!?" I said out loud
"My love, I want you to accompany us to where you found these creatures. You know that it is my dream. I have spent years of my life studying it. I promise you that I will forget it as soon as we return to Delphi for our wedding at the earliest opportunity," he said.
In fact, I wasn't as excited as I used to be when Nate mentioned our marriage, and instead I felt sorry for him. He seemed to be on the verge of madness.
"But I don"t remember the place very well?" I said
"It's okay, it's worth a try," he said as he left toward Jacqueline's room
I felt a little upset and stood a little on the front porch. The night here was strangely frightening, I watched the stars scattered in the sky with the bright moonlight, and I thought I heard the howling of wolves coming from afar and immediately I retreated inside in terror as I shut the doors tightly.
