It had become quite clear over the course of the last two weeks that he wasn’t going to be able to keep pushing Celine as far as he normally would have. It pained him to see her hurting like this.

He understood, logically speaking, that she was still in a fragile place mentally, but it seemed that the more time that passed by and the more painful memories that surfaced, the less he wanted to push her.

So, in order to help her move forward, he would have to allow her to talk to him, but only after she had been cleared for release.
