REASSURANCE AFTER DISAPPOINTMENT

Flora had forgotten to put off her usual morning alarm. Once it was 5:30 am, her phone began to ring. She was tired, but she managed to force herself out of the sheets as she forced her eyes open.

She stumbled out of the bed, taking a step as if she were going to the kitchen, which had always been her next destination after waking up every morning.
