WHO SENT YOU?

The unfinished building stood alone at the lonely end of a broken road, a tall grey shape of cold cement with no windows and no doors, and the wind went through it with a sound like a man crying.

Richard's car stopped at the gate, and Donald, who had been waiting there with his hands in his pockets and his face pale, hurried to open the door for him.

"Good morning, sir. He is on the third floor."

"Is he talking?"

Donald swallowed. "Not yet, sir. He hasn't said anything reasonable."
