Flora looked better than ever.

Richard stared at her, his lips almost trembling.

“Flora, are you still angry with me?” he asked, his tone laced with something like a surge of mockery and remorse at the same time.

“No. I’m not angry with you, Richard. But I hate you! I despise everything that has to do with you.”

“Are you really that shameless to ask me such questions?” she snapped.

“You took my father’s shares. You destroyed my reputation. You made everyone believe I was an unfaithful wife, Richard.”

“I regret it.” The words slipped out of Richard’s mouth as if he had been waiting...
