A SHADOW FROM THE PAST

Adrian sat frozen.

His hands trembled slightly as he tapped open the email notification from Christine. His heart stopped as his eyes scanned the bold text at the top of the page:

“Revised DNA Analysis & Genetic Profile.”

He felt the world begin tilting around his head. A second glance at the bold title brought him almost to the verge of tears. He scrolled to the last page, where his gaze stopped at the doctor’s final comment:

“Based on the DNA analysis performed, the results show that there is no biological paternity match between the two individuals.”
