Charles's POV
I was kinda guilty for her condition. I don't know why I feel like I'm anxious. I went to work after breakfast. I couldn't stop thinking about Helena (only God knows why). I was restless. I went to the cafeteria later in the day and saw her serving customers sluggishly. She was looking more pale than she was this morning and was sweating even when the air con were on. She bumped into a customer who almost raised his hands at her. What a psycho! She glanced at me and I opened my mouth to say hi but she turned her back at me and went to the counter, she must be really angry with me. It wasn't her fault, all I displayed was nothing but what a cruel person would do. I was indeeed heartless. She wasn't wrong. Well I also wanted to get my revenge on her so why am I looking back? Why am I having pity on her? This isn't me. I never bothered taking a sit and I left.
It was 7:45 pm and I drove into the mansion and stepped down from the car. I was staring the store room wondering if Helena was there or inside the house. Well, she wouldn't even step her foot into the mansion because she would not want to belittle herself. She calls it self respect. Well, I just need to freshen up now. Nanny Rita came out of the store room and ran to me.
"Helena has collapsed. Come do something Charles!" She said as I looked at her in confusion.
"Won't you come?!" She said almost yelling.
"I don't care! You go save her. She's not my responsibility."
"If you won't I will!" She said and ran back into the store room.
"What the heck! Why are you like this Charles? If you don't tend to Helena, she might die!" I said to myself. "I will have to get our family doctor," I said and went after Nanny Rita.
Nanny Rita's POV
I ran back to the strore room and knelt beside poor Helena rubbing her hands when Charles came in. He must have abandoned his so-called carelessness about Helena and must have thought of helping her.
"What happened to her?" He scoffed kneeling with one leg beside Helena.
"I came to call her for dinner preparation and I saw the poor thing has collapsed.
"Call Doctor Ryan!" Charles yelled as he carried her in his arms to the mansion. I called the family doctor, Doctor Rayn who rushed in few minutes later with a brief case and I led him to the room opposite Charles' where Helena was. "She's here," I said as I emerged into the room with the doctor beside me.
Charles' POV
"Doctor please see to why she is in this state," I said anxiously and the doctor stood beside Helena on the bed as he examined.
"What happened?" I asked when he was done examining her.
"She fainted due to her present condition. She has a high fever. If I may ask, did she stay out when it was raining yesterday?"
"Huh?!" I glanced at Nanny Rita who glanced at me. "Well will she be OK?" I asked ignoring the doctor's question.
"She will be fine," the doctor stated and gave me a prescription of medicine to get for Helena. "Get this for her and make sure she takes it in the dosage I've given you. She must eat well," he stated. I beckoned to Nanny Rita to walk him to the door and pay him.
I sat beside Helena and took her hand. Nanny Rita came in and Helena opened her eyes slowly.
"Oh she is awake!" Nanny Rita said and Helena glanced at her. She cast a weird look at me and slipped her hand out of mine.
"Give the prescription to one of the guards to get the medicine and get her peach soup," I ordered Nanny Rita and she nodded and left and I turned to Helena who fired at me.
Helena's POV
"WHAT THE HELL AM I DOING HERE!" I yelled.
"Shushh!" Charles shunned as he covered my mouth with his palm. I struggled and he pinned me to the bed forcefully. Nanny Rita walked in with a bowl of peach soup and he glanced at her and let go of my mouth.
"What a fool!" Charles growled and stood up. "You, shut up okay!"
"What am I...?"
"Dear you collapsed," Nanny Rita interrupted and sat down on the bed beside me. "Charles brought you here and called the doctor. You must be hungry. Here, have it," she fed me slowly as Charles stood aside watching me keenly.
"You shouldn't have done that dear. You scared to death and Charles was even..." She paused and glanced at Charles. "Eat up." She fed me the whole bowl of soup and I stood up.
"Where to?" Nanny Rita asked.
"To the store room."
"It's not necessary!" Charles said
"Huh!" Nanny Rita sighed.
"You will stay inside the mansion and stay in this room till your service is over. And it's final!"
"No!" Helena bawled.
Charles POV
Oh did I just say that? Well I really did but for no reason I'm sure off though.
"It's final!"
"Yes, dear Charles is right."
"Why should I listen to him Nanny?"
"Because I don't want to bear the cross of your death. Just stay here, don't ask me anymore questions okay!" I scoffed.
"But I..."
"Dear please just stay here," Nanny Rita pleaded and sat Helena down on the bed. "It's just for two weeks then you can go," she murmured to Helena and stood up. "I will go now. Sleep well," she glanced at me and left.
"Why did you scream last night?" I asked.
"They were there... Cockroaches! I hate them," she rolled her eye.
"Hmm!" I sighed.
"Sleep well!" I muttered and left. "A person feigning strong is afraid of mere cockroaches," I muttered heading to my room.
