He is mine.
RICHARD
I was standing in a corner, talking to some people.
"I didn't know you could also be captured by beauty," one of the men standing with me said. I know he was talking about Anna. They don't even know the reason I kissed that lady.
"He is even worse than I am. I am the one who thinks I don't have control when it comes to beauty, but Alpha, you are worse," he mocked me.
"Didn't you know what she said about her?"
I looked at the one who talked. I was so excited.
"She was said to be rejected by three fiances. Isn't that absurd, a beauty like her?" he said with a confused, pitiful face.
I searched for the direction she was going, and I saw her seated there calmly. Is she really having trouble with men?
"Well, I think those who reject such beauty are fools," one said beside me.
All I was thinking was how she could be looking exactly like Angel. Angel, too, is an enviable beauty.
"What pack is she from?" I asked.
"She's the future Alpha of the Diamond Pack."
Then it was made to me that she's the fiancée I had rejected several times. She's my woman.
How did fate bring me the replica of Angel? A wide smile spread through my lips. She is actually mine.
I couldn't stop looking in Anna's direction, but then Jane came. That didn't mean I would stop looking at Anna. My fiancée.
Jane asked me to follow her to a place where she wanted to talk to me. Initially, I would have declined and not followed her, but then something dropped in my mind, so I followed her.
The way Jane was caring was quite irritating to me. I hate people who are clingy. "What do you want?" I asked her to fold my arms around my chest.
"I want you," she said.
I snorted and looked at her like she was slightly crazy. Anyone who knows me knows that I don't go by females who are forward. I chose my females.
I took a look at her for the last time and decided to leave, but she held me. "Don't go," she said in a soft voice.
She was giving me this pitiable look that didn't even move me. I just removed her hand from my arm.
"Woman, I don't have time for this," I said firmly.
"C'mon Richard. We've known each other for a long time, and you always know I want you. I have tried not to like you, but then it seems my life has been glued to you," she said, with emotion flowing from every part of her body.
I looked at her indifferently. She is definitely not my type. She should have known this because this is the first time she's made advances at me.
"Richard, I promise that you will not regret making me yours. See, I have a lot to offer you. My father and grandfather are wealthy and have great connections. They can give you whatever you request. If we two join together, we can build a great empire, and we will be so powerful. Richy, just accept me. I love you," she said with so much enthusiasm.
She even moved closer to me and hugged me.
Just as I was about to talk and push her away, we both heard someone talk. "Stay away from him!"
Looking in the direction, it was the replica of my angel that talked. That moment, I just wished she was my angel.
The expression on her face when she's looking angry, her firm voice when she wants to assert authority—everything was the same.
She is just the exact same as my dead mate.
I wondered what she wanted to do. Did she find out that I'm her fiance? That will be good because it will be a lot of help.
She held Andy in her hands, and they walked towards us.
"Who are you?" Jane asked rudely.
"She is my mommy." Andy was the one who replied.
I looked at Andy. He is such a stubborn one, and he never listens.
Anna stood there, exchanging fierce looks with Jane. I didn't know if the two would want to fight each other, but I wouldn't let that happen.
Jane then looked away from Anna and squatted to talk to Andy.
"Andy, I know you want a mommy; why not let me be your mommy instead of a stranger? I'm your daddy's good friend, but she isn't," Jane coaxed him.
I would have told her not to bother persuading that stone-headed pup, but I just stood there, waiting for the outcome of the whole thing.
"My mommy is not a stranger, but you are a stranger!" Andy shouted. He then shrugged away Jane's hand and hugged Anna the most.
Jane stood up and looked at me.
"Richy, let's get out of here," she said, moving so close that she was hugging my arm.
Anna, who was looking at her with an unfriendly look, slowly moved closer to us. We were both looking at what she was about to do.
This scene was very interesting to me.
Suddenly, Anna pulled Jane away from me, and Jane almost fell. "Ahh!" Jane gave a short scream.
"Hey female, don't waste your time on this man; he is mine," she said with a haughty look.
Those words stroked a card in my brain. Not because she said it because Angel had said those words one time.
I don't know how two people can be the same in everything. "That's a lie, girl. He can never be yours, ``Jane shouted at her. Anna smiled at her in disdain.
"Just because I allowed him to dance with you doesn't mean I will allow you to snatch him away from me, nor do I like to share," she said.
I was smiling secretly at what Anna was saying. It seems that following Jane wasn't a bad thing at all.
Jane looked at me so that I would counter what Anna was saying, but I didn't even look at her talk more of me saying anything. I was just looking at Anna with an interesting look.
"And again, Andy didn't just call me mommy because he wanted to. He called me mommy because I'm really his mommy. So leave my fiance and son alone," she said harshly.
Wow! She knew. No wonder she was also looking at me. I like this. Me not denying it made Jane cry and run away sadly.
"Yay, we did it," Andy said to Anna happily.
And she also smiled back at her. Then she looked at me with a pout as if she were expecting me to say something.
I had kissed Anna earlier, and she kissed me back, so my leaving with Jane was just to instill a bit of jealousy in her, and it did work.
Instead of me saying anything, I pulled her to myself and hugged her tight. "Angel," I couldn't help but whisper in her ears.
ANNA
Since Andy was still pestering, we went to look for his father and the lady who took him away. We didn't search for long before we found them in the garden.
I could hear Jane confessing love to an expressionless man. I just wondered how some females could lose self-esteem.
Well, the reason I am here is to make sure Richard doesn't accept that woman. So Andy and I moved forward.
"Stay away from him!"
I said it in a loud, clear voice. I made sure my voice was quite stern so that it would scare the female.
I could see that Jane was eager to fight me, but when Andy defended me, she felt sad.
Everything I told her about Richard being mine wasn't totally a lie. He is my fiance, and since Andy is his son, he is also mine.
I had thought Richard would get angry when Jane left crying, but his face didn't show that he was angry. He was looking somewhat amused.
In fact, he moved closer to me and hugged me. "Did he get me wrong?" I asked myself.
"Why won't he? You just acted like a jealous wife right now," my wolf told me in mockery. "I wasn't jealous. I was only helping his son," I replied plainly.
"I didn't argue that," she said to me.
And truly, I wasn't jealous. I just don't want Andy to be sad. He is such a good kid, and he has been sticking to me all day.
Moreover, he rejected me already. Why would I be jealous of a man who rejected me?
I enjoyed the warmth that came from Richard's body. I didn't know why I was so attracted to him. Then I heard him whisper in my ear.
"Angel."
That name again!
He mistook me for his dead ex-wife again. That was super annoying.
I hate to hear that name. Not because I hated the one who bears it, but because I envy her for filling the heart of this powerful, gorgeous man. Looking at the way he couldn't forget that woman, I know that he must have loved her so much.
I release myself from his embrace.
"I have told you, I am not Angel," I said with an angry look. "Maybe I should call you fiancée then," he said with a smile. I looked at him and snorted.
"Are you saying this because I called you my fiance earlier?" I asked him.
If he hasn't found out that I'm his fiancée, I was going to deny being his fiancée.
"No. You are truly my fiancee, Anna. We are engaged; it's just that we haven't met each other," he said calmly.
I could see a flash of guilt in his eyes, but that's none of my business. "Well, didn't you reject me?" I asked him sternly.
My anger was beginning to grow. I had already given up on getting married to anyone. So he shouldn't disrupt my life just because I look like his love. I'm not a replacement.
"I'm sorry about that. It's just "
I raised my hand midway for him to stop talking.
"Because I look like someone you know, do you want me now? See, Richard, I'm not the cause of that, and I'm not interested in anything that has to do with you. Just go find yourself another fiance."
I could see the pain and sadness that rushed to his face. Well, he deserves it. He looked at my face with regret showing in it, and just as he was about to talk, I shifted into my wolf form all of a sudden, and I ran away. That was how the party ended for me.
I was glad to have left those people behind, and we will never meet again. I don't want sudden trouble in my life. That night, I didn't speak to anyone; I just went to sleep.
The following day, because I couldn't sleep until the early hours of the morning, I woke up later than usual.
I had dressed myself casually and wanted to start my day. My first plan was to go visit the work in progress at the garden.
I had instructed people to plant me flowers with nice, fragrant flowers. No one cares about the garden like me. It gives me this sudden peace of mind.
I was at the garden doing some little corrections about the planting when one of the maids assigned to me came to tell me that the Alpha of the Blue Moon Pack and his son were around.
I stiffened.
I remembered the way we parted ways yesterday. I literally left him stranded after I had sent away the woman who was wooing him.
It wasn't like I was planning to replace her or something. "Is he here to get revenge on us?" My wolf asked me.
That question I don't have an answer to.
"Many times, try to think of consequences before you do a thing," she scolded me.
