The second the car rolled to a stop, I lunged for the door handle. Freedom was just a pull away. Finally. I could put this entire day behind me, take a hot shower, and maybe drown myself in wine. I was already reaching for the door handle when I spoke.
“Well, it’s been an absolute nightmare. Thanks for nothing.”
