I wanted to die.
Right there, in the middle of this stupidly slow elevator, next to the man who had single-handedly turned my brain into pudding and my legs into jelly.
It was all my fault. I should have walked away. I should have ignored him. I should have never let his words get to me. But no. Instead, I had done the absolute unthinkable.
I had swooned.
Like some ridiculous heroine in a victorian novel, all breathless and weak-kneed, practically falling into his arms. I mean, who does that?
