Her hesitation was fucking killing me.
Her fingers trembled as she reached for my belt, hesitating just a second too long. My patience was already hanging by a thread, my jaw was tight and my breath sharpened.
“Don’t make me do it for you,” I warned. “You won’t like how that ends.”
A shaky breath left her lips, her chest rising and falling too fast. She was panicking—I could see it in the way her hands fisted at her sides, in the way her eyes darted toward the door like she was calculating an escape.
