I was reviewing patrol schedules in Darius's office when I heard the first explosion. The entire mansion shook and books fell off the shelves around me. I jumped up from the desk and ran to the window just in time to see smoke rising from the eastern guard tower.

"What the hell was that?" Eliza burst through the door looking panicked. "Are we under attack?"

"It looks like it. Get everyone to their defensive positions now. I am going to check on the tower."
