The first hybrid lunged at me and I barely dodged out of the way in time. Its claws raked across my side and pain exploded through my ribs. I spun around and bit into its leg but it did not even flinch.

"They do not feel pain," Eliza shouted from somewhere behind me. "You have to take them down with lethal force or they will just keep coming!"

I went for the hybrid's throat but it caught me with a powerful backhand that sent me flying across the room. I crashed into the wall and felt something crack in my shoulder.
