Late that night after most of the pack had gone to sleep I got a report from one of my guards that Matteo was holding a meeting in the old storage building near the eastern border. Several pack members had been seen going in and out over the past hour.

"How many people?" I asked.

"At least twenty sir. Maybe more."

"And you're sure Matteo is there?"

"Yes sir. We saw him arrive first and he's still inside."

I looked at Dante who was standing next to me. "He's making his move. Gathering supporters for a challenge."
