I was lying in bed unable to sleep when my phone buzzed with a text. It was from Kayla.

"I need to talk to you. Meet me at the old gazebo in the garden tomorrow at noon. Please come alone, this might be the last chance we get before everything changes."

I stared at the message trying to figure out what she meant by everything changing.

I should tell Darius about the text immediately. That would be the smart thing to do but part of me wanted to handle this myself. Kayla was my sister and even though she had lied to me there was still some connection...
