Cain's POV

"She wants us both in the study. Now."

Roxy lowered the phone slowly, her face pale. She stood there for a moment, staring at nothing, then smoothed down the front of her shirt even though there wasn’t a single wrinkle on it.

I stayed on the kitchen floor for another second, giving her the space to collect herself.

“What exactly did she say?”

“That Richard has seen the article.” She tucked her phone into her pocket. “And that we need to get ahead of it before the board starts asking questions.”

She pushed herself away from the counter and straightened. “She sounded more annoyed than worried.”
