Chapter 72

"I'm so sorry I disappeared. I ate something that didn’t sit right and got sick." The lie tasted bitter on her tongue. 

She pulled a flower from behind her back. A white rose she'd grabbed from the dining table on her way in. "For you. To apologize."

Alina stared at the flower for a moment, she still felt hurt. But the genuine look in Talia’s eyes melted her heart so she took it.

“I’m still disappointed. It wasn’t right to leave me that way.” Alina said.

"I know and I’m sorry.” Talia stepped forward and offered her hand. "May I have this dance?"
