Vina headed for the living room with her bag. She meet her Dad putting a smoke grenade on his waist.

"Hey Dad you look worried is anything the matter." Vina asked.

"Four bodies were found in the wood and my attention is needed there." Mr. Derrick said wearing his boot.

"Four bodies? What the cause of their death?" Vina asked.

"Well according to the report i think they were attacked by wild animals with claws." Mr. Derrick said.

"Be careful Dad cos I don't want to lose you." She said.

"It's okay girl I'll be careful." He said heading for the door.

"Where's mom? I finished breakfast and I haven't seen her yet." Vina asked.

"She's part of the individuals that took an ambulance there." Mr. Derrick said.

"Okay Dad."

"Join me in the car so I'll drop you at school." He said.

Mr. Derrick got into his cop car and sat down. Vina soon joined him at the front seat.

She adjusted her hair from her shoulder and Mr. Derrick saw a plaster on her neck.

"Hey what's this?" He said holding her hands from using the hair to cover it.

"It's nothing dad." She said faking a smile.

"Nothing?? What happened to your neck?" He asked.

Vina scratched her head and then spoke out.

"Emm. I slip and fell over the stairs." She lied.

"Oh my God. Are you okay?" He asked.

"No Yes. Yeah am fine." She said stylishly covering it with her hairs.

"Did your mom treat you?" He asked.

"No. I did it myself. It's just a minor wound dad, i shouldn't bother mom about it." She said.

Mr. Derrick smiled softly.

"Our future doctor Vina." He said and Vina smiled.

"Nevertheless your mom will have to do a check up so we'll be sure there is no fracture." Mr. Derrick said.

Vina nodded.

He turned to the steers and started driving. In five minutes they were already by the school gate.

Vina got down from the car and waved at her Dad.

"Bye dad." She said and entered the school compound.

She touched the plaster on her head.

"oucch!." She moaned out.

Mona really kicked her there and she sustained an injury.

"Thank God i did not faint." Vina thought.

She entered through the corridor and kept walking. She soon turned to the corridor at the left and stopped by a classroom.

She heaved heavily and pushed open the door.

The eyes of the entire class turned her her.

"Here comes the Catty eyes."Israel said and they began to laugh.

"My Grand mom has agreed to borrow you her glasses." Mona said and they laughed further.

Vina bowed her head and walked to her seat to avoid the gaze of her classmates.

She wanted to seat but Mona pushed away her chair and she crashed unto the ground, hitting her head on the ground.

"Ahhh." She cried out.

"Hahaha!." Her classmates laughed pointing to her.

She stood up slowly in pains and dust her dress with her handkerchief and drew her seat to its position. She sat on it and raised her heads up, everyone where still giggling.

"Weakling!." Ronald shouted.

"Frog eyes." Mona added.

They were still saying all manners of things when the maths teacher entered.

"Good morning Ma."They all greeted.

"Good morning students. I hope you all had a good night rest." She asked.

"Yes ma."They chorused.

"You ain't talking Vina." She said to Vina who was thinking about how her dad might find out sooner all later.

"Em No Yes." She answered abruptly.

The entire class burst out into laughter.

"What's funny?"The teacher asked.

"She was watching The Walking Dead throughout the whole night." James said.

"Frog eyes don't have the ability to watch horror movies, she's at sponge Bob Square pant level."Israel said and they continued laughing.

Tears were already forming in her eyes.

"are you nut? How dare you call the creature of God a frog eyes." Mrs. Anna shouted and they all kept quiet.

The class was now as silent as a grave yard.

"1 hour detention." Mrs. Anna said and the whole class shouted.

"will you keep quiet?" She shouted.

The door open slowly and the ray of light shown on the face of a teen girl as she entered.

All the whole class opened their mouth aghast.

"Good morning Ma." She greeted.

"Morning are you a new student?" Mrs. Anna asked.

"Yes." She answered.

"okay. Go and have your seat. What's your name?" Mrs. Anna asked.

"Clara. Clara Martins." She said.

"Clara??"All the whole class chorused wondering what such of name is that.

Clara walked up to Vina's seat and sat on empty chair close to her.

"Okay then."The teacher said and turning to the board she began to write.

"Hey am Clara." She said smiling at Vina

"I I I am." Vina stammered to say.

"Hey are you shy or what? You've been cold since I saw you." Clara said.

"I Am fine. My name is Vina." She said.

"Wow coolest name ever." Clara said and she smiled softly.

The maths teacher taught for 45 minutes before leaving the class.

"Hey frog eyes did you bring any snacks for us today."Israel said.

"Am hungry. Am damn hungry." lycan said.

"who's frog eyes?" Clara whispered to Vina and then noticed she was crying.

"Oh my God why are you crying? What's wrong?" Clara asked.

She remained mute.

"Is frog eyes crying?" Mona asked.

"Oh my Gosh don't tell me you're the one they're referring to." Clara whispered.

Vina nodded nodded slowly.

She looked back angrily and stared eyeball to eyeball with Mona.

"Are you insane? How dare you call a fellow classmates that?" Clara shouted.

"Hey newbie. We rock this class and no one question my authority here." Mona said.

"You what? You rock madness. What has the girl done to you?" Clara asked.

Vina was totally amazed this was like a dream, she couldn't believe someone was stepping up for her. What did Clara see in her and decides to back her up

"Hey Silver or whatever you're called you better respect your life." Ronald said.

"Will you shut up you ugly pig ?" Clara shouted and the class laughed except Mona and her gang.

"How dare you?" Ronald said standing up.

The door opened and the Biology teacher entered.

Throughout the lesson Ronald, Israel and Mona's head were burning. They were so angry at how a new students could just confront them like that.

They couldn't wait for the lesson to be over, they needed to teach her a lesson that she'll never forget in a life time.

Vina turned to Clara.

"Why did you help me?" Vina spoke out.

"You're too cool for my liking. How can you ignore all those insults?" Clara said.

"They'll beat me up." Vina said.

"Let's listen to the teacher. He hates noise." She added.

Clara wanted to speak further but held her peace and listened to the teacher.

Like a joke the clock ticked and ticked and it clocked 11.

Vina ran out of the class with speed as usual.

Clara who was surprised followed after her while Mona was shouting at the class for laughing when Clara insulted them.

Vina entered into the restroom and rested her back on the wall.

"Why do they all hate me. Am i truly a weakling. After suffering to do my assignment Mona snatched it and presented it to the teacher and was commended while i served detention for not doing it , managed to tell the teacher what happened by the time we got to the class Mona had Copied my work and hide my note to avoid much beating from them i couldn't defend myself and they still beat me up. All the snacks mom and dad bought for me all gone as they eat it all." Vina soliloquises in tears.

The door opened and she almost screamed thinking it was Mona but it was Clara.

Vina heaved and quickly cleaned her tears up.

"Don't tell me all you said was true." Clara said.

"What?" Vina asked in pretense.

"i heard all you said. So this what they do to you huh?" Clara said.

Vina remained mute.

"You're to cool for my liking girl speak up. Am a friend." Clara said.

Since Clara was the only friend she got now and never wanted Clara to hate her Vina spilled out all that have been happening to her not missing a single point.

"What?" Clara shouted.

"Who have you told about this?" Clara asked.

"No one." Vina said.

"Do you know the reason I haven't given you a resounding slap. It's cos I was once a nerdy like you. You suffering all this and you keep enduring huh." Clara said.

"They'll beat me up if I try to retaliate. Everyone hates me you're the only friend I got." Vina said.

"It's okay Girl. Clean your tears provided am in this school no one will dare lay his or her filthy fingers on you." Clara said.

Vina opened her mouth aghast.

"They're many" She was saying and Clara cuts in.

"Do you want us to be friends forever?" She asked.

Vina nodded.

"Then do whatever i tell you to do. Agreed?" Clara asked.

"Yeah." Vina answered wondering where she had now summoned such courage. If Clara was able to defend her when no one did then She had to stick with her.

They walked back to the class and meet the Maths teacher just entering, they entered and sat.

"Good afternoon class."

"Good afternoon ma."

Israel entered the class with red eyes he had been deprived of break while serving his punishment.

"Well Your Computer Science teacher isn't around so he asked me to use his period." Mrs. Anna said and sat on desk.

There was murmuring in the classroom.

"I wonder why you all hate mathematics." She said.

"Well it's just a revision so throw your questions on topics you don't understand and I'll answer them or the Mathematicians among you can solve them, mathematicians like Mona." Mrs. Anna said and Mona flash her dirty teeth.

Clara raised up her hand and everyone stared at her even Vina knew she was up to something but couldn't figure it out.

"I resumed school today and em an assignment was marked yesterday i don't seem to understand it so i would love if Mona could teach us all cos I heard she got all and no one did." Vina said.

The class became as quiet as a grave yard. This Girl must be a witch everyone thought.

Mona hearts began to pound heavily and sweats began to form.

"Oh that's true Clara not everyone got all. Well let the humble mathematician come and teach the class on the board." Mrs. Anna said.

There was no movement.

"Mona where are you?" She asked.

Mona stood up and walked slowly to the board.

Clara smiled softly.

Mona took the marker and moved to the chalk board.

Mrs. Anna already wrote the questions on the board for her.

Mona placed her hands on the board and couldn't write.

Thick sweats were now forming On her face and her body was shaking seriously.

"We're waiting Miss. Mona." Mrs. Anna said.

After waiting for several minutes Mona was still on same spot not been able to write a single number.

"Am totally disappointed in you. I thought you solved it huh. Go to your seat." Mrs. Rose Rose said.

Mona returned to her seat in tears and sweat.

The disgrace was just too much

"Is there anyone here who can solve it?" Mrs. Anna asked.

"Can you?" Clara asked Vina.

Vina nodded.

"Go."

Vina wanted to object.

"Remember our deal" Clara said.

Vina picked up courage and walked to the front of the class.

Everyone stared in awe.

"What is frog eyes coming to do?"They all thought.

She began to solve it and explained the steps as she wrote.

In the twinkle of an eye, she had perfected taught it like a teacher.

"Oh my God this is amazing. You really surprised me Vina, keep up the good work." Mrs. Anna said and parted her shoulder.

Vina returned back to her seat, she could see the fierce eyes of her enemies staring at her.

"A round of applaud for her." Mrs. Anna said.

Only Clara clapped.

"Are you nut? I said a round of applaud for her." Mrs. Anna shouted.

Everyone had no option than to clap for her.

"My mathematician." Clara whispered and she smiled softly.

"Ten Marks for you Vina." Mrs. Anna said.

"Huh!." Everyone shouted.

SOMEWHERE ELSE

A man could be seen staggering into a basement. He soon met a huge man.

"Father The werewolf's are back." He said.

"You should have asked which breed before you attack."The huge man said.

"I never knew it was the Nicholas Breed."The man said.

"Yes. The most dangerous It'll be full moon soon Prepare for there's a lot of work to do."The huge man said.

"Yes father."The other man said.

Will HIGH SCHOOL

Vina and Clara could be seen giggling as they walked through a corridor.

"You need to see how she was sweating like no other." Clara said and they burst into laughter.

Unannounced Mona and rose blocked their ways.

Israel and Ronald walked out from a room and stood at the girls back.

Some of the other Gang stood at the left and right with Vina and Clara at the middle.

"Here you are." Mona said angrily.
