Cathaliya opened the catalog and began browsing.
"So, Atlas, how did your mother react to your marriage?"
Sam asked.
"Whether she agrees or not, she can't do anything." That was my response.
"You're right, Aunt is bitter about her failed marriage with your Daddy, and I was being dragged," Sam admitted.
Samantha Carlson was a family friend of ours. We are related. Even though the fact that we were not blood relatives, she was the first sister I ever had. I burst out laughing.
"What did she say?" I asked.
"I'm not getting married because no relationship will last forever," Sam grinned. I burst out laughing.
"So, why did she marry again when all she wanted was for that relationship to last longer?"
Samantha's head shook.
"I'm not sure. "I keep saying no to her when she invites me to dinner," she explained.
"I understand her in some ways because she isn't getting any younger." So she was worried." Samantha then took a deep breath.
"That's why I make it clear to her that I have no plans to marry just yet," she says.
“Who is the man who will marry you? You keep on working. And you have no intention of coming out of your office to look for a date." I said.
“You don't have to make me look like I’m so old, Atlas. I'm just only thirty-five.” She told me.
"I didn't say anything like that, Sam. What I want to convey is that you should also date so that your life will be colorful." I told her.
She rolled her eyes.
"All right, I'll try," Samantha replied.
“You always say that so that I’ll stop talking but at the end of the day. You just stay here.” I said, glaring at her.
"I know, I'll just introduce you to my single friends," I said. It frowned.
"Don't dare, Atlas," she said, "because I don't want to stain myself with a little dirt if I meet one of your friends."
"Because they are rich and handsome, they are suitable for you," I explained.
"No way! Rich but a jerk. It's a good thing you're not like them because Cathaliya might not marry you," she said.
And looking over at Cathaliya, who is scanning the catalog. She had the attitude that if I was having a conversation with someone, she didn't interrupt. If she is interested in something, she will pay attention to it. Not like Samantha, who was always talking. That is why, at no point in my life, I have not experienced hurting the feelings of others, particularly women. Since I've been surrounded by so much love from people who matter to me.
Despite coming from a broken family, I never imagined myself as bitter. Cathaliya chose a wedding gown an hour later. This is a bidding gown with no back. I know she made the best decision for herself. Cathaliya's mother can no longer accompany her to the altar. She now lives with her father, stepmother, and family after her mother died of cancer. It's a good thing they're pure-hearted because he won't have any problems.
They eventually decided to return home. He'll first take Cathaliya to her Sunstone New Home in Las Vegas. While his bodyguards continued to trail them.
"Be careful, sweetheart. You don't want to come in? Daddy hadn't arrived yet. So it's all right," she smiled and winked at me.
"No, thank you," I replied.
I don't want the two of us to be intimate, maybe after marriage. She frowned as she closed the gate and I got into the car, noticing my bodyguards in the distance. I drove away from my girlfriend's house, and I heard my phone ring in the car seat. I looked at it with one hand first because I was still driving.
"Hello, Doug, why do you call?" I asked over the phone.
"Let's meet here in my condo," he suggests.
"Sure," I said.
I directed the car to Douglas' condominium. We had been friends for four years and were very close. I entered and exited the vehicle inside his unit. Please follow my bodyguard. I was standing in the doorway when I discovered it.
"Are we going to speak?" I asked.
"Hold on, we haven't had a drink in a long time." But you're even more bored because, since you've received death threats, you've avoided unwinding outside of the city, such as at a bar," he says.
"Should I go out and unwind and risk my life?"
I told him, and he fell silent.
"Let's go inside," he suggested.
When I entered Douglas's condo, I noticed that his surroundings were in disarray. My head shook. There was never a reason for him to be a man and not clean his room. His belongings were all over the place. And there were a lot of empty beer bottles on the floor.
"What the hell is the matter with your unit, Doug?" I'm not sure why you're so messy ", I told him, wincing.
I even tripped over an empty coke can, causing me to fall to the ground.
"You're a jerk!" "I told him once while clutching my buttocks.
"Are you all right, Atlas?" he asked.
“Seriously? Do you still have that question? You noticed that I was already on the ground "I informed him.
"Sorry, dude, I was so drunk last week that I didn't think of cleaning up," he explained.
So, does this mean this mess happened last week? How was he able to live like this? I stood up and looked at him.
"Are we just going to have a drink here today?" "I asked.
He didn't say anything but began to tidy up.
I let out a gasp as I stared at him. I also helped him because I wanted to finish the task as soon as possible. An hour later, the debris in Douglas's house had been cleaned up, but I was still sweating profusely. I sat back in my couch seat and reclined. Douglas approached me on the couch with three bottles of beer. He positioned it in front of me. I grabbed a bottle and downed it.
"How's the engagement going?" he asked.
"It's fine, I'm nervous, but that would have been normal if the wedding was coming up," I said.
"That's not natural, Atlas, and it's terrifying because you never know when you're going to be pushed down," he explained.
“What if they then take action during your wedding?" Douglas said.
“Damn you, Douglas! Do not talk like that." I said.
"All right, not anymore, but I can't help but be scared for your life." He told me.
"I never thought that you called so that we needed to talk about my issue," I said.
“Don't be afraid; everything is fine,” I said, assuring him that I was fine. But I couldn’t help but be afraid of what he was saying.
"So how’s your life?" I asked him to divert the topic.
He fell silent.
“I was dumped. That’s why my condo looks like this. I was broken-hearted." He said as he punched his head. I laughed hard.
"Care to tell me what happened?" I told him.
“I used to love a woman, but she isn't incapable of reciprocating my feelings. I don’t know what her reason is." He said in response.
