I was in his house and I could see it on him, the reluctance, the doubt. Xavier didn't want to continue with it. He was obviously ready to forgive Amelia even if she really perpetrated everything. He stared at me with dark eyes that reflected how heavy his heart was.

"I don't have to do this." He shook his head and let out a heavy breath.
