"Mm." He placed his drink on the table and leaned forward. "At night, you continue to wander down here. I'm beginning to wonder.

The air around us tightened like a tension wire as I froze.

“Wonder what?” “That you're seeking something you shouldn’t.”

The tiny strap of my tank top slipped off my shoulder as his gaze trailed over me, revealing my bare legs beneath the lower part of my sleep shorts. He was no longer even trying to hide his eyes. I believed he could hear my heart slamming so hard.
