Chapter Three
The sound of waves smashing against the hillside awakened Sophie.
She momentarily forgot where she was. The air was slightly scented and the sheets underneath her were chilly. Then she felt warmth behind her, a heavy arm hanging over her waist, a strong, muscular chest crushed against her back.
Lucas.
His breathing was heavy and slow, and he was still asleep. She allowed herself to remain there for a while, seeing the early light flowing across the floor, since the weight of him felt calming.
She was aware that this wasn't her life and that she needed to wake up and begin packing. She couldn't help but fall...
