Artemis was on the floor, bleeding.

“I- I” I stuttered, still in shock, trying to remember the sequence of events clearly. But the blood fogged my memories and I ran to her side instead.

Kaidos pushed me to the ground. “What have you done?!”

My eyes darted from Artemis who was crying in pain to Kaidos who was glaring at me. I shook my head. “I didn’t mean to -”

“This is exactly why you came back here!” his voice thundered. “You came to hurt Artemis just because I rejected you.”
