Kaia’s POV

The Anon’s curse. That’s what they called it.

It was whispered all through the denhouse. Lupa had brought the curse to our pack.

But I wasn’t worried like the rest of them. I was happy that something actually killed them. And three days was such a long time.

For the first time, Lupa laid on her bed quietly. She didn’t hiss when I stepped in.

“Kaia,” she called instead. “Come to my side.”

I bowed and played sad.

“How do you feel, Lady Lupa?”I asked, feigning concern.

“Raise your head,” she said.

Her red hair was spread on the bed where her head laid. Her eyes were dull....
