Sam handed him something, smiled, and walked away back to her seat. She sat next to Lisa nervously.
'What happened?' Lisa asked worriedly looking in the direction Sam was looking at.
'I'll tell you everything later, just pray it works out,' Sam replied.
Minutes later the waiter brought Eric their drinks and secretly nodded at Sam. Damian sipped the glass of juice slowly as they talked about random stuff.
'I feel okay now and I don't want Kendra to spoil my mood,' Damian said.
'What do you suggest?' Eric asked.
'I would have gone to your house but the last time I did that it didn't end well with Kendra. I think I should book a room here. The hotel isn't bad after all,' Damian said looking around.
'I should come to pick you up tomorrow?' Eric asked.
'Yes or you can go to my house and bring me my car,' he replied.
'Let's go check a room,' they both stood up.
Seeing them walk away, Sam followed them behind secretely.
4 am Next morning...
Lisa opened her eyes and stared at the man next to her. It had happened and she felt pain. She got down slowly trying to ignore the pains she was feeling and headed for the bathroom. She mixed herself a hot bath in the tub and settled inside. After a quick back, she felt better.
She hurriedly dressed up and tiptoed out of the room not to wake him up. She got to the reception and called Sam to come to pick her up.
The sun rays that penetrated through the window woke Damian up. He stretched his hand to take his phone and the time shock him up. It was eight in the morning and the last time he slept that long was when their marriage was still a bed of roses and their home a paradise to look forward to every evening. There were three missed calls from Kendra and five from Eric.
He sat up and was shocked to find himself naked with only his vest on. He couldn't explain what happened but he saw his clothes lying peacefully on the flow. He pushed back his hair and sprang out of bed throwing the duvet away only to get another shock of his life.
There were bloodstains on the sheet and he scratched his head frustrated. He dialed Eric's number immediately, only he could give him an explanation.
'Where are you?' Damian asked immediately Eric picked.
'Good morning am on my way to the hotel, I'm coming to pick you up,' he replied.
'You have my clothes with you? I need to change,' he said.
'Yes,' Eric responded.
'Just hurry,' he said and hanged up.
He went back, took a shower, and came out tying a towel around his waist. Eric had already arrived and was waiting for him.
'What's this?' Eric asked pointing at the blood.
'I thought you got an explanation,' Damian replied.
'Me? How?' Eric was confused.
'I woke up and met my clothes down and blood on the bed,' Damian explained.
'I thought you saw the girl?' Damian added and shrugged.
'You slept with a virgin ghost,' Eric chuckled.
'I'm serious, did you see any girl?'
'No, I left you in this room alone so I don't know anything but it isn't a bad thing at least you are sure you haven't forgotten how to screw a woman,'
'But I've cheated on my wife,' Damian complained.
'She'll never find out, how are you sure she isn't sleeping with men? I don't mean to accuse her but I don't trust that wife of yours, never was and never will. She denied you your right for three years and you still keep her. If not for the fact that I don't want to be called dumb, I would have tagged you as the dumbest person I've met in my life,'
'It's my fault, I can't give her a baby,' Damian defended his wife.
'There is adoption and you never chose to be that way, it's nature there is nothing anybody can do,'
'Give me my clothes you don't understand,' Eric pointed at the bag on the table.
Damian walked to the table and on the floor, he saw a bangle, he bent down and picked it up.
'What's that?' Eric asked concerned.
'A bangle and I think it belongs to her,' he replied.
'You can just keep it, I guess you can meet again one day,' Eric shrugged.
'Her name is Melissa,'
'How did you know?'
'It's written here,' Damian handed the bangle to Eric.
'Let me put this in my house and I'll help you find the girl. I'm sure you crazy will find this in your things and throw it away,'
'Do you hate Kendra?' Damian asked his friend not like he didn't know Eric despised her but just wanted to confirm.
'Hate is an understatement, if there is a word above hate, that's what I feel for her. I only tolerate her nonsense because of you,' he answered truthfully.
Ever since Damian started being sad because of her, he started despising her.
'What do you advice I do?'
'Ask her for a divorce and don't tell me how much you love her because she doesn't love you. It's not easy but it's for your good,' Eric advised.
'I'll ask her today,'
'Don't ask, go get the papers and give her to sign,' Damian nodded.
One week later...
For one week Melissa hasn't been herself. She could often be seen alone and even zooms out in the middle of a conversation. Her condition worried her parents and all ways to know what the problem was didn't yield any fruits.
'Let's go and get tested,' Sam suggested to her.
She was the only person she was close to. She had created a distance between people because she thought everybody could see through her and they will know what she did.
When Sam suggested the test she rejected it at first and then she started praying it comes out negative. She was already regretting her actions. She followed Sam to the hospital and the results came out positive.
'Congratulations, you are pregnant,' the doctor announced looking happy but Lisa didn't find anything to be happy about she stared at the doctor with an expressionless face.
'I want it terminated,' Lisa said out of the blue.
'What!? Sam yelled.
'Why? A child is a blessing,' The doctor asked.
'I'm sorry doctor, she doesn't know what she's saying. Thank you for your time,' Sam appreciated and pulled Lisa out with her.
'Let me go,' Lisa freed herself from Sam's grab once they got outside.
'What's the meaning of this? You wanted a baby, I did both the possible and impossible and you are finally pregnant then you want it terminated?' Sam whisper yelled trying all possible means not to attract the passerby's attention.
'Thank you bestie, but I can't have a fatherless baby. What will I tell him when he asks about his father? He will think of me as a prostitute,' Lisa tried to explain to Sam and make Sam understand from her point of view.
'And because of that, you want to be counted as a murder and have your child's blood on your forehead?' Sam raised her brows at her.
Sam made sense but she also made sense. What was she to do? She was more confused than ever.
