Khushi opened the door all smilingly thinking it must be Arhaan. But there was none.
"Who knocked?" uttering this under her breath, she turned her head right and left but no one got into her sight.
Getting somewhat afraid, she closed the door immediately and reached her phone to call Arhaan again. But the phone was still switched off.
This got her confused as well as worried as Arhaan never switched off his phone before.
She thought of calling Muhib and dialed his number but cut the call involuntarily before it started to ring as she again heard a knock on the door.
She didn't get to go towards the door as all of a sudden, she started feeling all afraid. When she again heard the knock, she forwarded towards the door with slow steps.
Standing near it, she asked first, "Who is it?"
As soon as she heard the voice she was wishing to hear, "It's me", she opened the door immediately.
There he was. Arhaan..
Standing with a smile on his face though he was looking all tired.
The fear and tension was long forgotten and got Khushi smiling at him.
Remembering about the meeting, she asked him, "How did it go?" as she gave him way in.
Being somewhat confused, Arhaan got uttering, "What?"
This made Khushi frowning as she uttered, "Your meeting."
Arhaan gave her an all-clueless expression and got uttering, "Meeting?" only to get Khushi giving him a questioning look.
"Oh, great. We got the deal." Arhaan replied immediately as if he remembered it now only.
And to divert her mind so that she couldn't question him more, he spoke up, "You were bored, right? Sorry for leaving you alone like this for this long time."
Khushi got uttering while taking the coat and bag from Arhaan, "It's okay. You must be hungry. You get freshen up. I am ordering something."
Arhaan shook his head and spoke up, "No need to order, wifey. We will go out to eat."
"It's okay. We can eat here. You are looking all tired." Khushi reasoned only to get Arhaan to speak up, "Yes I am but not that much that I won't be able to take my love out for dinner. Get ready."
Khushi nodded smilingly, "Okay."
After some time they were out of the hotel. Eating in a restaurant, they roamed around the town till late at night.
Khushi's P.O.V.
We were at the beach, sitting on the sand. My head on Arhaan's shoulder and his hand wrapping around my waist.
Whenever he was with me, I felt secure. Like there was nothing to worry about now. In his arms, I felt home.
It was already past twelve. It was 29th October. Our marriage anniversary.
Though Arhaan didn't remember about it but still with him roaming around the city, sitting here on the beach and all made me feel like we were celebrating it.
Celebrating our togetherness of one year.
Sometimes I got asking my fate "How come I became so lucky all of a sudden to have him in my life!"
In a world of chaos, he had become my safe haven. I had laughed and cried in the warmth of his arms without the slightest bit of hesitation. Any place felt like home when I was with him.
He was the sunshine that made every darkness of my life go away. Every night I fell asleep so peacefully knowing that he was mine and waking up felt special because his face popped into my eyes right after I opened them.
My Arhaan, my love, my life...
Arhaan spoke up getting me out of my thought, "It's already past midnight. Should we go back now, wifey?"
I nodded at him smilingly. We got into the car and he started driving.
But getting somewhat confused about the direction as he forwarded towards another way, I spoke up, "Are you sure of this direction? I think we came from the left."
He smiled and spoke up, "I know. But now our direction is the right way."
Giving him a questioning look, I asked him, "Are we going somewhere again? It's already late, Arhaan."
He just gave me a smiling look as he uttered, "So what?"
Feeling something fishy, I asked him "Where are we going?"
But he just shrugged off my question with a smile.
"Arhaan, where are we going?"
I asked him the same question for few times but didn't get any answer. At some point, he spoke up, "Stay quiet for some moment, sweetheart. You will get to know."
I let out a sigh and uttered, "Okay."
After driving almost two hours straight, Arhaan stopped his car at the entrance of a Mansion.
He got out of the car and reached my side to open the door and then forwarded his hand towards me. The place was quite dark. Holding his hand, I looked all around as I got asking, “Where are we now?”
Besides the Mansion, nothing got into my sight. I turned to Arhaan all confusedly only to find him staring at me already.
"Where are we? Arhaan, where is this.." I didn't get to complete as in no moment, I was in his arms as he forwarded towards the entrance of the mansion.
I got utterly shocked and confused, "Arhaan! What are you doing?"
He didn't mind my word nor did he answer.
"Leave me."As soon as the last words got out of my mouth, he turned to me as he spoke up smilingly but in a serious tone, "Never ever."
I smiled but got silent at that and looked forward.
The door of the mansion was all opened to my utter surprise. We entered the Mansion like this. It was dimly lighted. The place seemed quite familiar for some reason.
He forwarded towards a room and pushed the door opened. The room was beautifully decorated with lights, candles, flowers, balloons and so on.
I was totally confused about what was going on. He put me down finally and himself stood in the middle of the room with a smiling face as he uttered,
"Happy Anniversary, Wifey."
I stuttered, "You re..remem..bered?" getting shocked.
"Of course. I was all busy full day decorating this room and you thought that I forgot?"
I smiled heartily hearing him and got uttering, "Happy Anniversary, my dear husband." as I hugged him tight.
But remembering about the meeting, I asked him, "But your meeting?" as I let go of him.
"It was done earlier. Then I came here to prepare all this. I wanted to call you to say that I will be late but my phone battery was dead. Sorry."
Nodding at him, I again looked all around and uttered, "It's beautiful, Arhaan. But why this place?"
Arhaan gave me a shocked look and got uttering, "Don't tell me, you forgot this place, Khushi."
After glancing all around for one more time, I turned to him with a confused look. There was something about this place but I just couldn't remember it.
Arhaan spoke up again, "Khushi, this is the very same place where I brought you in my arms that day just like I did earlier and introduced you as my wife which made our story getting started on its own."
This time it hit my mind and I looked all around again.
Like everything started playing in front of my eyes once again.
That rainy night when Arhaan got me here, introduced me as his wife to have a shelter, our arguments in the morning, meeting that aunty in the party at my place, Areesha api's proposal, my asking help from Arhaan to stop this marriage which at some point got us bonded in this tie of marriage forcefully...
My chain of thought got cut as Arhaan spoke up, "You know how much I was worried about you that day? Though I didn't admit it back then but I was seriously god damn worried about you. But in the morning, you literally went on doubting on my character. Woah!"
I just smiled at him remembering all those and spoke up, "It wasn't entirely my fault, Arhaan. Situation made me. By the way you remember what did you say to me while returning home that day?
Even if I will be the very last girl on this earth, you will stay alone forever but still won't marry a girl like me."
Arhaan spoke up smilingly, "You were such a headache then, Khushi."
I gave him a shocked look and then both of us laughed out....

With my head resting on his right biceps as we were lying on the bed, we kept gossiping about ourselves and didn't get to know when it became almost dawn...
Saying our prayer, we again got on the bed to get some sleep.
After few hours, we left for our home being totally oblivious that few people were tailing on us......
