Chapter Nineteen: Rescue

Serena's POV

“Let me out!” I bang on the solid metal door for what seems like the hundredeth time already but there is no response.

I lean against the door, sinking down slowly to the ground, I hold my head in both hands.

It's either they can't hear me or they're just choosing to ignore me. I suspect the latter.

The room is dark, like a cellar or a basement with rough, uncut walls. I am not sure, but I think we are at the base of the mountain. It seems like we were underground when they brought me here, blindfolded.

Water drips steadily from the roof....
