The door swung open, and some girls entered. Their giggles echoed in the room. Ariel recognised one of them, her secondary school classmate, a girl named Jess, who was always loud and full of herself. Their eyes met, and then Jess's eyes turned into a narrowed smirk.

"Look who it is! Broken bride!" she said loudly, seeking everyone's attention.
