Chapter 3

Chapter 3

I struggled so much with myself, at one point I even hated myself for even thinking about accepting Doctor Ivan's request, for knowing this so-called Logan Greene and of all, for going back there at the first place.

I hated it, I really hated myself for it.

It's crazy how just a few weeks ago I would never even imagine myself in such a position right now.

Being a psychiatrist, realizing what I meant to do and actually terrified about something.

Today is Friday, only five days I've worked at Van Nuys hospital but it's all like a year. During this few days, he made my morning what I called a living hell.

Still the same annoying attitude, snubbing act, prolonged staring, annoying quietness, making me look the fool I ain't.

I sat on my desk, trying to think of another strategy to get this done. If I have to play like he is doing, it would be nice, right?

And even if I wanted that plan as much as anyone would, it will only make out a mess.

I meant, nothing will seem to be helping matters at all.

I heard the sound of my door open and close. I walked out of my resting room to my office to see Vera with a coffee cup in her hand. We exchanged a warm smile as we sat down.

"Those aren't for me, are they?" I asked even when I knew they were.

" They are. I thought you might want it to ease your day. Hurry it up or it gets cold. "

I smiled, taking it from her. I sipped from it," thanks. "

" Come on, it's nothing." She tried convincing herself with those words. Even though it was, she still won't believe it.

"How is Marco doing? It's been long I last saw him, that was three weeks ago. "

I swallowed the last sip of the coffee, with a heavy sigh accompanied.

Marco?

He's my fiance. We were into this relationship since three years ago and everything has been working great for the both of us but under some circumstances when you tend to face the opposites. Like they always say, everyday is not a good day. Somedays are meant to be bad to maintain balance. Maybe in my part, I'm only facing not just the bad part, but the worst.

Marco is someone every girl wishes to have. He had this charm little baby face that hid his age. He was tall, has this broad shoulder with a beautiful black eyes and a pointed nose which made him looked more cute than a twenty years old guy despite he was in his mid-thirties.

I met Marco at my final degree level at college. We both studied the same course but after his father died, he had no choice but to quit from his studies in order to oversee his father's business.

No one ever knew his true background until when his father's death became the topic of the town. Maybe it's because he preferred keeping it to himself.

Two years later, we met again at a restaurant downtown when I went for a dinner with Vera. Then we knew each other newly so, we decided for a get together dinner.

Marco and I ended up falling in love, he promised me that we were gonna get married soon. He even got me a ring but I refused to have it on. It's better off if we saw each other as couple-to-be and not already made couples.

"He's doing great but..." I paused.

Vera noticed it, she frowned. "But what?" She asked inquisitively.

"He has been acting weird. He never eats whenever he returns. I've tried talking to him about it, all he'll say is, he's not hungry. Food aside, he's getting hot tempered seconds after seconds. He is easily provoked, never wants to listen to my reasons. God! I'm fucking tired of all of this. " I said, trying desperately to put more strength into my voice.

"Look, you've got to understand something. People's got choices. He might have somewhere else he eats or maybe he just figured out that getting home with an empty stomach isn't something he can survive. You just have to see things the way it is. "

" But it's almost two weeks now. Sometimes I ask myself, are we still gonna make that kind of couples I've dreamt of? I try to believe he's got reasons but all the same he should at least try some home made before going to bed. "

" I understand, Skylar, I really do. It's Marco, you have to endure. You know, sometimes he acts bossy all you have to do is wait till he gets back to himself. "

I just wish I can really endure just as she has said, but I can't, not anymore. Truth be told, it's almost a year I've endured his annoying attitude.

And most times, I have to envy Vera and Tony's relationship. They were the best couples you can ever wish to have. I had almost forgotten about my dinner with Daniel. Daniel was one of my colleagues who had a crush on me a year ago. After he had found out about Marco and I, he had to quit the crushing.

Poor him.
