Tessa’s POV
I lay on my side staring at the wall that separated my room from the guest room and tried to slow my breathing. It didn’t work. The conversation in the sitting room kept replaying — the way Galvin had looked at me when I asked how I could help, the rough edge in his voice when he told me to go upstairs, the hard press of him against me before he forced himself to stop.
I turned to my back and stared at the ceiling.
