Leo was asleep in the clinic room, monitors softly beeping around him. His pale face pressed against the pillow like he hadn’t slept in years. I stood behind the glass, watching him, arms folded tightly against my chest.
Lucien’s voice broke the silence. “He’s stable.”
I nodded, barely breathing. “He wouldn’t be if she hadn’t intervened.”
“Camilla?”
“She killed one of her own, Lucien. She saved me. Gave me the location. She’s not one of them—not fully.”
Lucien sighed. “You think that means she can be saved.”
“I know it.”
His fingers brushed mine. “Then let’s find a way to bring her home.”
