Chapter 19: The Close In

“Where is Alex?” Precious’s voice trembled as she clutched Reid tightly, her eyes darting to the door Alex had stepped through hours ago. 

I didn’t have an answer for her, because I wasn't expecting any of the actions. My throat felt dry, and my legs were restless as I paced the cramped space of the cabin. Alex was supposed to check the perimeter and come back immediately. That was hours ago. 

The clock ticked past midnight. Each passing second felt like the tightening of a noose. I can't wait to know what next, the suspense kept killing me , what do I do?
