“What do you think?” A girl near the window whispered loudly. “Will she stand by her friend and call Violet out?”

“Of course she will. That’s obvious,” another voice chimed in immediately. “Everyone knows Riley hates Violet with her life. And she isn't scared of the psycho couple. She’s not going to just stand by and let this chance slip by. She’ll definitely get Violet in trouble.”

Someone else chimed in, voice dripping with anticipation, “Is this how it ends? Will Nora win again?”

The whole cafeteria hummed with predictions, with people already leaning forward to witness what they thought would be my downfall.
