I adjusted the cufflinks on my white shirt with a slow twist of my fingers. They paired perfectly with the charcoal-black suit I pulled on next.
I rolled my shoulders back, smoothed down the collar, then walked out of the penthouse.
The elevator chimed softly as I stepped in, hands in my pockets, boredom already settling in my bones like it always did. I’d barely slept, not that I needed much.
