I entered the already opened room, breathing hard. My chest rose and fell as my eyes swept across the space.

The room felt heavy with tension. Penelope and Kai stood on either side of Sebastian’s bed, silent, their expressions unreadable. I didn’t linger on them, I turned my gaze straight to him.
