Chapter 3: Jane host her sister

Jane dropped few blocks away from her house and decided to walk a little distance home. She did that to avoid Michael from knowing her house. As she got to her apartment, she found her door opened, she was very scared. She was sure she locked her door before leaving the previous day. She ran to her neighbour’s house to make enquiries but met no one. Everyone had left the house for their various working places. She remained outside. Scared of going in and waiting patiently to see who would come out.

“Jane you are back” Angela ran to give Jane a big hug

Angels stood surprised she couldn't believe it was her sister that was inside while she stood outside in fear. She hugged her sister tightly. Glad to see her after three solid years.

" I have been around since last night. Your neighbour opened your door for me with the xtra key that you gave her. Where have you been? Angela asked

“It’s a long story, let me go in and refresh” Jane answered

Jane got in and narrated all her experiences to Angela, how she was drunk and rescued and even how she was robbed. Angela felt sorry for her and immediately went to her bag and gave her a spare phone.

“You can use this phone temporarily, I bought a new phone yesterday when I went out.” Angela told Jane.

Angela collected the phone, she appreciated it and asked her sister of she would be staying long, that is , if she was here for a visit or for business.

“Aren’t you happy to see me? Angela replied

“Of course I am happy to you, just wondering if this visit is for business or pleasure.” Jane said again.

“Well, it’s for both. I’m on business trip and I decided to spend time with my dear sister since it’s a while we bonded, all thanks to our jobs that has occupied us.” Angela said jokingly.

Angela and Jane stayed together. They had nice time, they watched movies, cracked jokes, ate , drank and had a long gist. It was exactly what jane needed after her terrible experience.

Angela asked Jane when she will be retrieving her lost line to enable her business partners to reach her on phone. She replied her sister that she will be doing that the next day. She planned on spending the entire day with her sister. Shee preferred to stay at home and bond with her sister. She had also missed Angela. She asked about her siblings and parents and everyone they both knew. It was great.

“It’s past 4pm. I will like to go out briefly, I will be back soon” Angela said

“Do you have work this evening?” Jane asked

Angela doesn't have any work assignment. She was free till tomorrow. She met a very cute guy yesterday at the boutique when she went to purchase a nice dress for the seminar dinner party and would want to see him and spend sometime with him. Angela explained to Jane

Jane said Okay. She knew that Angela would not bring any of her friends home to visit her as a result of their past ugly experience. She was okay with Angela leaving alone.

Angela dressed up and left.

Few minutes After, Jane heard a knock at the door.

“Angela is that you? Did you forget anything?” Jane said as she opened the door. To her greatest surprise, it was Michael.

Jane anger rose like a flame of fire.

"How did you know my house?" She asked

Michael was scared as he saw anger written all over Jane's look, he explained that he followed you home after dropping you off in the morning.

“I don’t like this kind of visits. I’m not pleased with this act of yours”. Jane said

Michael apologized and begged her to be ckm that he mean to annoy her, he was only worried about her after the morning incidence and knowing that your phone was stolen,there was no way he couldn’t reach her to ask how she's dating. That was his main reason for visiting in person.

Jane’s anger subsided but yet didn’t make any offer to ushered Michael in.

“I am fine as you can see, I appreciate your care”. Jane said

Michael understood that Jane doesn’t want to invite him inside, so he returned from the door and went back into his car.

Michael was unhappy with Jane’s reception. Although he wasn’t expecting a kiss nor a hug but he expected that Jane should appreciate his coming. He drove back home.

Hours later, Angela arrived home, she wasn’t looking happy. Jane asked her what the problem was and she told her that she didn’t meet with her friend, she called him when she was in his neighbourhood but her friend wasn’t around and didn’t have intentions of returning home soon. So she had to go back home. She had intentions to say thank you for the dress he bought and also go out together during her few days stay in Port Harcourt.

“You like him right?” Jane asked

“Yes, in a way. He is my kind of man, I must admit but I don’t know if he is single. I just wanted to get to know him but unfortunately for me, I didn’t meet him at home”. Angela said.

“Don’t worry, you can go again tomorrow if you round up early at work” Jane encouraged her.

Jane also told her that Michael visited. Angela too was surprised on how Michael knew Jane’s apartment remembering that Jane stated it clearly that she dropped off his car few blocks away, Jane explained to her how Michael followed her home. She expressed also her anger and disappointment over the visit.

“Why should you be angry that a young, cute guy came to visit you? You should be grateful and welcome him.” Angela said.

I am grateful and I told him already but I didn’t invite him over, so what welcome does he expect? Jane said in anger.

Angela urged Jane to be careful on how she handles situations because she might end up in his arms. Angela rounded up the discussion and went to the kitchen to get herself something to eat. She was famished.
