They lie there quietly for a long time, just staring at each other, smiling stupidly, both of them feeling completely at peace with everything around them. Finally, Alex speaks again, breaking the silence.

“Hey, do you want to watch a movie tonight? Like, one of our old movies. Or something else we haven’t seen yet. Whatever you want, I’ll be right there next to you. Always.”

Eric grins. “Sounds perfect. Just don’t forget your promise about staying the night.”

Alex laughs and rolls her eyes. “Oh yeah,” she mutters sarcastically. “I totally forgot about that.”
