My heart raced uncontrollably, and my hands trembled as he turned his face toward me.

It was Leo! My heart skipped a beat when our eyes met, and I gulped, unable to speak. Tension coursed through my body, and I shivered involuntarily, my feet now planted on the car seat as I hugged myself, trying to shield away from the monster.
