Something was brewing.

I don’t know how I felt it, but something was going on.

Life was busy. I was trying my best to run this kingdom, making sure I did my father proud. When I was alone at night, I would talk to my parents, sometimes asking them what they thought of everything I had done.

No one answered. Of course not. But somehow, just saying it out loud helped.

I wasn’t sure what I was waiting for—what that pressure in the air was trying to warn me about—but it was there. Constant. Low and heavy, like thunder rumbling far off in the distance.
