They wanted to kill her if I wouldn't let her go. She was a threat to the Kingdom and also to my mate.

The council believed Lyra was the reason for my sudden act and in order to stop that, they wanted her dead. All attempts to kill had failed, the poisoned blade was the perfect alternative for the council.

I could have died in her body, every event explains why the pack was not a safe place for her.
