Chapter 5

Evander, what are you doing here? '' I asked him It's Tuesday so I don't know why he's here, last week he was here but only because the hospital where he works has an emergency.

Evander and Dad stood up, I was surprised to approach them as well.

"Your father called me, he said you were fired from your job" I felt ashamed, Dad really said that Son, there's good news," Dad said happily.

I need a P.A can you? '' He asked me.

I was not immediately silent, I felt like I wanted to have fun. Is this true?

"Hey" he waved his hand in my face, I'm still an idiot.

I quickly hugged him tightly and cried on his arm. Thank you Evander '' I said tearfully.

He hugged me back too.

"I told you I'll take it back, besides Mang Lorenzo was good to me then, I'm just giving back the goodness." He said.

'' When did I start? '' 'I asked smiling, he chuckled Tomorrow," he replied.

We had fun all day as a family. Evander returned to the hospital. I know it's hard to adjust. I’m used to Boss Zeph being my boss. But I can handle it, I can't do anything, it's my fault. Dad and I sat on the sofa.

"You've been sighing for a while, sister," Tabia caught my attention.

'' Probably! It's not a joke to be fired, especially with the Allistair Company. Even if we don't admit it, Ate's salary is high there, so let's live for a year, she only has a monthly salary '' said RafRfa while doing the cutics

Dad held my hand.

'' I'm really sorry, Son. It's my fault you got fired. I really want to go to your Boss to apologize. I know it's really hard to be a Boss without a Secretary ''

I really meant 5 thousand so that they have extra or money to save, I know my siblings don't spend so I'm really confident they will have something left over from their monthly allowance.

"Let's buy it" Dad was the first to stand up, the three of us just laughed.

We were happy until we finished eating. The four of us were full, there was even more, RafRaf spent five thousand on Jollibee, the excess amount sold was not exhausted. It was just for breakfast. I took another shower before going to bed. After I took a bath I dropped my body on the bed. I picked up my phone.

[Thainah, I'm sorry.]

[Answer my calls.]

[It's been five days, don't you really plan to come back?]

I stopped reading because of what he said. If he only knew that I wanted to go back to him but I didn't want to reject Evander, he offered me a job and b*bo me if I refused, I would also be very rude and ungrateful if I did that.

I sighed and sleep.

I just followed Evander everywhere. I bought her food and what she wanted. It's easy to become a P.A but I really prefer those with paper works. I'm used to it.

'' Is that tired? '' Evander asked.

We are in his office. I just sat and did nothing. I'm already bored.

I straightened up and shook quickly.

'' No, Boss '' I replied, he is my new Boss so I have to call him Boss.

'' Don't call me Boss, Thainah. Evander will do '' he added.

I just smiled at him. I’m used to Boss and I’m more comfortable with Boss. It looks like I really miss my real boss but I need you to forget. I have lost my job and I need you to accept.

"I'll take you later," he said.

I didn’t do anything all day. I'm the one who's ashamed because he doesn't order anything from me, I always ask him if he needs anything and then he just answers me nothing. I was in his clinic all day. He, in turn, is roaming. The two of us sat in the car while silent.

Did you enjoy your work? '' I turned to him.

I was looking out the car window, looking outside.

"Of course," I replied, even though it wasn't really true, I'm not used to doing nothing.

'' What happened to your previous job? '' He asked while driving, I replied bitterly.

"I was absent for three days and then I didn't say goodbye so I was fired, but promise, I won't be absent and I'll do my job well" I said, maybe he'll fire me too because of my record.

He laughed.

Silly. I will not fire you, you can be absent if you want. I know how hardworking you are, when you don't come in it just means non has an emergency-ing happened. I don't think your boss thought that, '' he said.

I fell silent. He has a point. I served Boss for two years. All my work is worthless. I am never late and even after my work is overtime I have no complaints. He then typed me two thousand papers but I didn't complain because it was my job. I can't complain because I'm the one who applied to that job, It's already my expectation at first. I knew how much work a secretary does but I accepted. Even though sometimes I can’t eat anymore because of work, you don’t really have any complaints to hear from me. I'm not the one to blame but I really did everything.

"It's my fault, it's in the company's rules" I defended Boss, because it's not really his fault.

The car stopped a little farther away from us because people who were already asleep might wake up. I went out and thanked Evander.

I walked the distance I descended toward us. I hadn't gotten close yet when I saw Boss at our gate. My heartbeat quickened.

What is he doing here?

I approached him.

'' Boss ... ''

He looked at me. He looks so tired. In the five days I lost the Company I can say he lost weight but still know. His muscle is still obvious even though he is in a suit.

'' Hey '' he muttered.

'' What are you doing here Boss? '' I asked.

It's dyes, it's night and he's definitely home from work, he's definitely tired but why is he here at our house.

'' I want you back, Thainah '' he said, like begging.

A strange electricity flowed through my body because of what he said.

'' B-Boss ''

He approached me and suddenly hugged me. My whole body heats up. Her hug was tight. He buried his face on my neck.

"I miss you, please ... Come back to me, I'm sorry for what I said, I'm drunk now" he said while his face was still on my neck.

His warm breath caresses my neck bringing a strange sensation to me.

"Boss, I have a job," I said.

I don’t want to resign from my new job, embarrassing.

'' Resign on it and go back to me. I need you Thainah '' he said with a double meaning, my heart beat even faster.

"I'm sorry, Boss but I can't." I lost my hug.

'' Please '' he begged tiredly.

'' If you feel guilty, Boss. Don't worry, we are not angry with you. I'm really sorry Boss, I won't come back to you. ''

Pain crept on his eyes but I'm not so sure. I'm not a big loser.

'' I need you ... '' maybe he will kneel in front of me.

"I'm really sorry, Boss," I said and left him outside.

I hurried in and didn't look back at him, I really wanted to go back to him and look back but I had to really forget him even if I couldn't I really had to cope. For Ma’am Kaye, for everyone and for me.

Thainah's Pov

"Are you alright?" I looked at Evander.

'' Ha? '' That's all I could respond because of deep thought.

I've been like this for five days. Since that night I have never seen Boss again, even calls and texts are gone.

He stared at me for a moment while frowning.

'' How many days have you been out of yourself, are you too tired? '' He asked worriedly, I forced myself to shake with a smile.

'' I'm okay '' I told him but the truth is I also don't understand if I'm really okay or not.

'' You sure? '' He asked, I nodded.

We didn't talk anymore until I got home. Every day I spend the night coming home. I need to be with Evander the whole day, that's just my job, even behind him waiting for orders. It's not that I'm very delicate at work but I'm not really comfortable with my job now.

Very boring. I’m not tired or just busy. I like being busy.

When we got home I said goodbye immediately and went inside the house. They seem to be asleep because the lights are off and the door is locked, it's good that I have an extra key. I opened the door and went up the stairs but before I could reach the top my phone suddenly rang. I took it out of the bag and looked at who was calling.

I frowned, why is Ma'am Lucia calling? I answered the call.

'' Hello, Ma'am ''

'' It's Tita Lucia hija, can you please come here in Zephyr condo? '' I frowned as worried hugged my whole being.

'' What happened Ma'am? '' I asked nervously.

'' Ahmm .. Zephyr is drunk and he keeps on calling your name so please get my son's in this counter full of liquor '' Ma'am Lucia begged.

Only in the tone of his speech can he tell that he is really worried about his son.

"I'm on my way" I immediately turned off the phone and almost flew between our house and Boss's condo unit, it's good to have a taxi.

I rang the doorbell at Boss's condo unit. In less than a few minutes it opened. Ma'am Lucia's worried face flashed at me.

'' Oh god! Thank you hija for coming here, sorry if I disturbed you in the middle of the night '' she gave me an apologetic face, I smiled at Ma'am.

'' It's okay, Ma'am. Where is Boss? '' I asked while my eyes were behind Ma'am, looking for Boss.

'' Oh! He's in his bar counter. Come in hija '' Ma'am leaned over so I could go inside.

I made a face when I smell the liquor all over the condo.

'' I'm really sorry, hija. Can you take care of Zephyr first, because it's night and Zion still has a fever, I still need you to take medicine. I said I was just fast but it took me five hours here in the condo. '' He said.

None of myself nodded.

'' All right, Ma'am. No problem, I'll take care of Boss. '' I said while smiling.

I don’t know what I’m going to do with Boss but I know Ma’am really needs to leave.

Her eyes were shining.

'' Thank you very much, hija. By the way, I cooked some hangover soup there and also please feed him and make him bath, he hasn't been in the office for five days and he's always here inside. Look, he's like garbage, my son is miserable '' he said while looking at Boss.

I also looked at Boss. My heart aches when I look at him, as if he is a person who has lost the world.

"I'll get going, huh?"

"All right," I led him outside.

When Ma'am left, I went back inside and was amazed. The dirt here, some of his clothes are on the floor and then there are glasses and bottles of wine on the floor. I went to the kitchen and looked at the wash. There was very little to wash but Ma'am and Boss said they had been here for five days. Isn't he eating? I pity my love.

I sighed and went back to the living room. I saw Boss at the counter top, still drinking and as if the whole world didn't know anything, I approached him and took the glass away from his mouth.

'' That's enough, Boss '' I weaned him.

I picked up the glass and bottle of wine on the counter top and walked away from him.

He looked at me violently. His eyes were only half open and he looked drowned, he was blast blast.

'' W-who a-are you ?! What are you doing here ?! '' he asked drunk.

I was caught up in my senses.

"This is Thainah Harris, Boss," I told her emphatically.

It immediately sat up straight and looked anxious.

'' Thainah! Oh please! Hide the liquor! She doesn't want me to see drinking! '' He said drunk again.

Even though I wanted to hit him, I still smiled. It was then that I forbade him to drink alcohol because the alcohol hurt his nose and Boss seemed to follow because since that day he had not drunk. I only saw him drink again when he fired me and now.
