## KAYLA'S POV

A short while later, I was walking back into the territory of the Wonder Power pack.

This place was supposed to be my home. But life had turned out differently for me, and right now, I didn't have a place to call my own. I was born here, the daughter of an Alpha. By all rights, I should have had a respected place in this pack, but thanks to my stepmother, everything had been stripped away from me.

Why had my father ever given in to the idea of taking a second wife? My mother loved him, and she was more than enough. But being an Alpha...
