I was stunned by the statement he made. Protecting me? That made no sense. What was he protecting me from? From Chloe? If that was his thought, then it's crazy.

If I needed protection against someone, it would not be someone like Chloe. She was the first person to give me her attention and care. She was the only friend I had. Why would Alpha Zeus Ludendorff treat her in such a manner?

"What do you mean?" I queried in a very angry tone. "How can you say you are trying to protect me? From what exactly?"
