I was sitting on my couch going over some case files when my phone started ringing. Katy's contact photo popped up on the screen and I swiped to answer.

"Hey girl, what's up?" I asked as I leaned back and placed my feet up on the coffee table.

"Not much, just got off work and wanted to check in. How are things with you?" she replied.
