Chapter Seventy-Two: Moving Forward

Maya and Alex returned to their safe house, exhausted but elated. They had made progress in their negotiations with the government, something that would have seemed impossible just a few months ago.

As they settled in, Maya let out a long breath. "I can't believe it," she said, her voice still tinged with disbelief. "We actually did it."

Alex wrapped his arms around her, his expression soft. "We did," he said. "And we did it together."
