"Did Cole give you those scars" I throw in question of my own

"You saw them?" Mom says

"Yes" I nod

"I meant to mention them to you when I came back from the meeting but you were already asleep

"Wait, What scars?" Jermaine asks

"She has deep long scars covering her back. Some seemed very recent, maybe a month or two ago. They look like whip marks" I answer

Mom gasps tears filling her eyes. I know how she felt. Only an absolute monster would do something like that to a child.
