ERIC’S POV

I nearly lost hope, thinking I had lost her forever. Now out of the long hidden pathway that led out of the house, I couldn’t see her. There was no sign of her on the narrow roads, corners, or anywhere. She might have left this part of the kingdom already. The thought of that made panic curl around my spine like a serpent.

‘No…’ I tried to convince myself otherwise, holding onto the hope I knew I didn’t have. She didn’t know her way around this area so navigation will be quite difficult, slowing her down. I can still find her. I know I will. I just hope...
