The window. Perhaps there was a way I could escape from there. Why didn’t I think of it earlier?
Vigorously wiping a tear that escaped with the back of my hand, I hurried towards the curtains. Standing on my toes, I drew it away to reveal a large rectangular window with clear glass panes.
Outside, I could see it was dark already. The skies were pitch black, dotted with tiny stars that made the view beautiful. I couldn’t believe I had slept for so long.
