ADRIANNA’S POV

I flinched on seeing the sudden grey spark of lightning followed by thunder rumbling across the sky. It didn’t take long before rain started pouring down as if the heavens themselves were weeping in anguish over some unseen tragedy.

“Adrianna!!” My heart skipped on hearing Eric’s mother call my name again. It sounded like she was saying it through gritted teeth. That certainly wasn’t the tone of a person delighted after having a meal.
